Powering Through to Uncover Your Success

Well, let me start off by saying that this last week was a VERY tough week for me. From car problems to other personal problems, I probably silently cried on three different occasions. To protect my ego, I probably shouldn’t be admitting that on here, but I digress. My point here is that I made it through the week in one piece, despite feeling like I was rapidly falling apart. So how on earth is me telling you about my problems supposed to help you? Venting about the details of each negative situation probably won’t be of much assistance to you, but I can explain my process of powering through the bad to eventually uncover the good in life. It’s a tedious process, but you’ll be so much stronger (both physically and mentally) to carry on with your goals. I’ve found that powering through has helped me at work, at school, in personal situations, with my health, and even in financial situations. Let me explain… Continue reading

Is Your Life Getting TOO Comfortable?

Sometimes in life we get a little bit too comfortable with our surroundings. Being comfortable is good since it reflects a sense of stability and reliability, but sometimes it can hold us back from accomplishing so much more and ultimately moving forward. I tend to get myself in situations where I’m so comfortable that I start to get uncomfortable, if that even makes any sense. I am a creature of habit, but I still like some spontaneity in my life. Here is what has helped me in the past when it comes to mixing it up in a healthy way! Continue reading

Are You Holding Yourself Back from Your Own Success?

As much as I hate to admit this out loud, there have been many times where I’ve held myself back without even realizing it. At the end of the day, we are all our biggest enemy and our biggest cheerleader. Even though that sounds like an oxymoron, I’m sure you know what I mean. Only you can hold yourself back and only you can bring yourself to move forward. Sometimes we unintentionally hold ourselves back from a situation and don’t realize the damage we’ve caused until years down the road. Here are some signs that you need to look out for to avoid this from happening to you. Continue reading

How Moving Forward is the Key to Happiness

I don’t know if you can tell from many of the topics that I’ve covered over the last several months, but my life has been extremely weird lately. And I don’t mean the good kind of weird either. Even though things are starting to improve, the process is taking a whole lot longer than I was expecting it to. Remarkably, despite little actual progress, my attitude and outlook has changed considerably. I realized that these things started changing as soon as I had hope about the future again. I’ve always been a hopeful person, so when I started losing hope in my future, I felt my personality changing for the worst. Once I started striving for things down the road, I noticed my current situation changing. Here’s what helped me… Continue reading

Getting What You Want Out of Life

I see the same theme in both the young and old lately- the notion that we can’t always get what we want out of life and we just need to roll with the punches. Even though I agree with this to some degree, it feels like we’re just inspiring an entire generation to give up on the things they’ve been dreaming about since they were little kids. Whether it’s a career, a material possession, or finding that special someone, we’ve all become somewhat jaded by the mass amount of horrible circumstances that have plagued others. Even though I’ve had a fair share of things in my life go completely wrong lately, there are things in my life I accomplished by believing they were possible from the get-go. Of course it takes a pinch of motivation and ambition as well for these things to happen, but it all starts with your mentality. Below I break down where you can start with attaining your goals. It’s Time to Stop Dwelling on the Past

It tends to happen when you least expect it. You’re trying to go to sleep, you’re taking a shower, or you’re hanging out with an old group of friends, and BAM! Somehow, a repressed memory from the past comes creeping up back into your fragile mind. I say this, because it’s been happening lately to me more than I’d like to admit. I’ve personally grown a lot in the last six years (basically since I graduated high school in 2011), but some moments make you forget all of the progress you’ve made. Whether it’s a “funny” story or a character flaw you had, the memories can be cringe-worthy. Instead of asking yourself, “Why did I do that?” or, “Why didn’t I say this instead?”, try your best to move forward with these helpful tricks. Continue reading

Learning How to Be Your Own Rock of Stability

Helplessness- we all know that feeling way too well. Whether you’re single, in a relationship, popular, lonely and/or anywhere in between, we’ve all felt at our wit’s end at one point or another. The biggest struggle with coping is those moments, whether they’re sparse or frequent, is when we are alone. It could be that you’re on your lunch break and everyone else is working, or it could be that you’re not getting along with someone and you’re secretly hoping that they’ll text you back. Even though I like to pride myself in becoming a mature adult over the past few years, I still have my desperation filled moments. This is why I’ve tried my hardest to become my own rock of stability. The second you rely too much on another person other than yourself, is the second that you have the ability of spiraling out of control. The truth is, we’re all human beings! Most people cannot be there for you emotionally 24/7. The one time the person you trust doesn’t get back to you for several hours, might be the time that you freak out. So how on earth are you supposed to become so self-reliant? Well, here are my suggestions. Continue reading
