We’ve all been there. Whether you’re attending a new school, starting a new job, or even adjusting to a major shift in your personal life- the beginning period typically sucks. Will the new people like me? Did I just make a huge mistake? What have I done? I’m pretty sure we’ve all asked ourselves these questions at one point or another. Even some of my fondest memories evolved from an initial rocky adjustment period. I look back at my time at San Diego Mesa College with rose-colored lenses, but I remember my first month there was rough! I was taking the bus, I wasn’t sure about two of my classes, and I barely knew anyone. A couple months later it felt just like home! It’s easy to lose sight of these things, but eventually we all adjust to what we consider a new norm. I don’t know about you, but I am soooo glad that 2017 is almost over! Now I know that the concept of change coming immediately after January 1st is completely mental, but many of us decide we’re ready for those necessary life changes once we wake up to a brand new year. Now with great change comes great responsibility. With that being said, it takes hard work, dedication, and motivation to achieve your goals. Can you lose 50 pounds, land your dream job, and find your future spouse in 2018? Of course you can! Is it highly likely? Probably not, but that’s because most of us are lazy and hate the concept of major change. Well, here are my suggestions on how to kick butt this year and make 2017 wish it never messed with you in the first place!
