I am one of those people who falls head over heals in love with the Fall season. Not only is the food amazing, but the fashion and weather are equally intriguing. I should probably mention that I am a fall baby myself, which makes me feel right at home during this holiday season. My birthday is actually on Thanksgiving Day this year, and it can’t get any more perfect than that! Don’t get me wrong, there are many reasons to appreciate every season, but let me explain why Autumn beats them all!

Sweater Weather

I cannot get enough of my sweater collection. I live in San Diego, and even though I don’t have any real complaints, we usually don’t experience any real seasons. Right around October is when the weather usually drops in temperature enough to comfortably exchange my maxi dresses for sweaters of all shapes and styles. I mean who doesn’t enjoy a good sweater? It’s like wearing a fitted blanket, and did I mention that they’re super easy to throw on with jeans or leggings? That’s a win-win if you ask me. My advice? Keep an eye out on Black Friday, because now is the time to stock-up on your favorite Fall fashion.

The Spices

I know everyone is obsessed with pumpkin EVERYTHING, but I’m more about the spice half of the pumpkin spice craze. I mean, just the smell alone of cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar are enough to drive any foodie over the edge of binge-eating. Now you even see these spices incorporated into the non-edible industries such as fragrances, cosmetics, candles, and more. The taste and smell of these spices and the famous dishes they appear in immediately get me into the festive spirit.

The Crisp Air

Even though I tend to run cold, there’s something about that crisp fall air that gives me a sense of clarity. I love walking down the street in a cozy sweater  and boots, while watching the leaves fall from the trees and the cold air hitting my face. There something comforting in watching change happen, even if your nose feels like a giant ice cube in the process. Even though I love Summer weather, it has nothing on the crispness of a Fall afternoon.

The Vivid Color Palette

Fall colors are synonymous with warmth and comfort. The rich orange, maroon, olive, and yellow tones remind me of sitting in front of the fireplace while eating a bowl of soup. Even though the pastels and neons of Spring and Summer are beautiful colors as well, something about fall colors are amazing to me. To see the leaves turn orange before they fall from the trees and cover the ground is so aesthetically pleasing to me.

The Thanksgiving Feast

Of course, how could I forget about Thanksgiving?!? I love Thanksgiving food so much. I actually could care less about the Turkey, but the sides are the real superstars of America’s favorite meal. Whether it’s stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, casseroles, gravy, or pecan pie – I am a side dish fiend. Christmas dinner can be magical as well, but Thanksgiving still holds a special place in my very hungry heart.

Fall will always be my favorite season for many reasons, but especially due to the reasons I listed above. I hope you have a wonderful, happy, healthy, and safe Fall this year!
